POSITION:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT / SALARY:
- 8 hours per day (shift to be determined)
- $18.15 – $23.98 per hour based on experience
STARTING DATE:
MINIMUM PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Due to the state and nationwide labor shortage, the district will consider applicants who do not meet the GED requirement. Candidates without a GED or high school diploma will not be eligible for promotions to another classification.
- Successful experience as a school custodian, or other equivalent experience.
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with other employees.
- Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibility.
- Successful experience maintaining grounds and landscape experience.
- Experience in cleaning methods, and the use and safety of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Perform heavy manual labor and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Have a First Aid card, as requested by supervisor; and
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications, as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sweep, scrubs, waxes & polishes concrete, linoleum, tile & wood floors & vacuums rugs & carpets in offices & rooms.
- Cleans and dusts walls, furniture, woodwork, and other equipment.
- Pick up paper and other garbage on district grounds and sweep walks and entrances.
- Washes, scrubs and disinfects restrooms.
- Cleans windows, door panels and drinking fountains.
- Cleans and polishes any metal work such as hand railings.
- Empties and cleans waste containers.
- Assists in moving and/or rearranging chairs, tables, desks, furniture, and other equipment.
- Replace light bulbs, maintain equipment used in the course of work.
- Performs special custodial work upon request of faculty with supervisor’s approval.
- Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards to proper authorities.
- Responsible for locking doors and windows, turning out lights and securing building as assigned; and
